Steps to a thorough and effective treatment.

To ensure a thorough and effective treatment the preparation must be followed prior to the treatment date. If not followed, you will significantly reduce the chances of eliminating the bedbug problem. Not following/completing the bed bug preparation properly may affect results and guarantee.

Treatment Duration

Upon arrival of service technician, you and your pets will be required to leave for a minimum of 6 hours. If you are pregnant or asthmatic you should be out for min 24 hours.

Prep Your Furnishings

Nightstands, drawers, dressers, bookshelves etc. need to have items inspected and removed and sealed in bags being careful to ensure you are not bagging(protecting) bed bugs from the treatment.

Items that cannot be laundered can be sealed in a plastic bag and placed in a chest freezer for 3 weeks or stay sealed for 14 months.

Mattress Covers

Purchase and use proper good quality bed bug proof mattress encasements (after first treatment). These are available through Mr. Pest Control. (cheap ones almost always rip and can make the problem worse)

Prep Your Home

DO NOT move beds and furniture away from walls and where they normally sit. We will move as we treat. Fish tanks should be covered with a towel and the circulation system disconnected. Windows preferably open if possible during the treatment.

Prep Your Linens

Before our arrival all (clean or dirty) linens, towels, blankets and sheets must be laundered in detergent and hot water then bagged. All beds shall remain stripped for the treatment.

Before our arrival all (clean or dirty) clothing must be laundered and sealed in bags. This includes stuffed animals and drapes! (everything that can be laundered should be laundered …EVERYTHING!  Do not store bagged items in affected rooms!

Please note when transporting laundry use plastic disposable garbage bags. Discard bags and bring clean laundry back in new clean bags.

Floors and Walls

Prior to technician’s arrival all areas of house must be cleaned and vacuumed(discard vacuum bag, tightly seal in plastic bag and dispose). Remove clutter off floors and away from walls. Do not store stuff on beds!  PLEASE DO NOT MOVE FURNITURE/BEDS FROM WHERE THEY NORMALLY SIT

Prep for Second Treatment

Do not put stuff back into dressers etc prior to 2nd treatment, leave them bagged to reduce your prep for next treatment.

Do Not Spread Bugs

DO NOT change where you sleep or temporarily leave your home. This will spread the bed bugs or cause them to go dormant and not be effected by the treatment.

Treatment Needs Time

It is not uncommon to still experience bed bug problems for 2 to 3 weeks following treatment. Treatment for bed bugs needs time to work!
